Finally after umpteen years - we’ve started selling advance tickets to select events. We’ve gone with Brown Paper Tickets, who not only has the LOWEST service fees in the online biz, but they’re the first and only ‘free trade ticket’ company. What does that mean? We have no idea either, but it sounds freakin’ sweet.
This service will slowly be more and more integrated into our website, but in order to get the word out for some KILLER shows we’ve got coming up, we decided to jump the gun and post ‘em. Right now, we’re selling tickets for Greg Ginn and the Taylor Texas Corrugators, The Felice Brothers, and The Cliks.
2009 is going to be a big year for The Valentines… and The Mets too.
We can totally feel it. Can you?
Again, new photos have been added to the PHOTOS page. Thanks Blair for the great shots of the Meg & Dia show earlier this month.
We got a great September comin’ up for you guys too - stay tuned!
Photos from 16 Volt, Bella Morte, and Intelligent Television shows have been added to the PHOTOS page. Czech them out! Nice job guys.
(thanks Joseph and Angela!) Keep ‘em comin’.
We’ve also got this cool little dealie on the right that will link you to any blog stories about us - entitled PEOPLE BLOG ABOUT US? That’s right, people actually take the time to type shit about us on the internet.
Al Gore would be proud.
Every single year our web hits quadruple during the week of Valentines Day. The Cause? Millions of people go to Google and search for… wait for it… wait for it… ‘valentines’. Now, I totally expect that behavior from people this time of year - but what baffles the fuck out of me is that they all seem to locate our site in the search results (which is under “LovingYou.com” but above “BillyBear4Kids.com”) and click on the site before moving on to ACTUAL sites that have flowers, bunnies, and other cute shit on them.
Maybe we should sell something anti-valentines day this time next year.
Anyways, we’ve got some cool shit coming up this weekend - if you’ve got any money left after Thursday, that is…
Vitamin X will be here on Thursday, February 14th (hey, almost the weekend) - Straight Edge, Hardcore Punks from the Netherlands, with special guests Spread ‘Em / Mud Lark - and on Friday night The Americana Music Club presents Albany’s own Knotworking with Anders Parker / Ashley Pond / Tracy Morrow and the Magi Chippie.
What to do until then? Go post some snarky remarks on the Roger Clemens message board or something…
